About

My name is Charlotte Jennings

Most people focus on outcomes—weight loss, a number on the scale, lab values, or a goal body. But outcomes are fragile. They fluctuate based on motivation, stress, and variables you can’t always control. When results are the only focus, the process becomes something temporary—and that’s where most approaches to health fall apart.

Sustainable health is built through the process. The daily habits that support your body—nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management—are what create lasting results. When these systems are consistent, outcomes like fat loss, improved energy, and better metabolic health become sustainable instead of temporary.

I’m Charlotte Jennings, a Family Nurse Practitioner and board-certified Lifestyle Medicine Nurse Practitioner based in Richmond, Virginia. I also work as a Nurse Practitioner in thoracic oncology, where I see firsthand what happens when health is addressed too late. My work outside the hospital is focused on prevention, performance, and long-term health—helping patients improve energy, body composition, and overall well-being through evidence-based lifestyle medicine.

This is not a traditional medical practice. I work in a coaching-based model, supporting patients through telehealth across Virginia, including Richmond, Henrico, and Midlothian. My role is to translate evidence-based recommendations into practical, sustainable strategies that fit real life.

My approach is grounded in the core pillars of lifestyle medicine—nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and behavior change. There are no extreme plans, quick fixes, or one-size-fits-all protocols. Instead, we build a personalized system that supports your health long-term, so results are not just achieved—they are maintained.

Our Approach

A Holistic Perspective

Our approach is rooted in the understanding that health is not built in isolated moments—it’s shaped by the patterns you live in every day. We combine clinical insight, evidence-based practice, and a holistic, whole-person approach to create a personalized strategy that supports both physical and mental well-being. By integrating lifestyle medicine with real-time data from your body, we move beyond generic advice and focus on what actually works for you—your schedule, your stress, your goals. The result is a clear, structured path forward that is sustainable and designed to improve how you feel, function, and perform over the long term.

The Six Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine

Our practice is built upon the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine—nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoidance of harmful substances—which together form the foundation of sustainable, whole-person health. These pillars work together to support how your body functions day to day—from energy and metabolism to mental clarity and long-term disease risk.

  • Nutrition – Prioritizing whole, nutrient-dense, primarily plant-forward foods

  • Physical Activity – Building strength, endurance, and daily movement

  • Sleep – Optimizing quantity and quality for recovery and performance

  • Stress Management – Supporting nervous system regulation and resilience

  • Social Connection – Strengthening relationships and sense of community

  • Avoidance of Harmful Substances – Minimizing alcohol, tobacco, and other exposures

Rather than focusing on quick fixes, this approach uses evidence-based strategies within each pillar to create sustainable, lasting change that supports both physical and mental well-being.
